Biography
Born in Uruguay from italian and french ancestors, I am an Italian citizen, living in Barcelona and Montevideo.
I lived my childhood during the richest times in Montevideo's culture, lived my youth under a military dictatorship in continuous fear and ressistence, I am the mother of four children, I have been a nocturnal painter.
I hid my artwork and my ideas until the return of democracy in Uruguay. Having held a long and deep practice in visual arts, I left Montevideo to settle in Barcelona in 2003.
Formed as an architect in the University of the Republic, UDELAR, I was trained as a painter in a studio with Torres Garcia's orientation, studied etching with a teacher based in New York and won a Fulbright grant to stay for three months in New York in 1988.
I am active as a painter since 1983 and my artworks have been exhibited in Montevideo and internationally in more than twenty single exhibitions and more than sixty group shows, going from the Metropolitan Museum of Tokyo to the Museum of Visual Arts of Montevideo.
My next exhibition is Iris, the healing of a ghost at the MNAV, Museum of Visual Arts of Montevideo, scheduled for September 17th 2015.
