Biography
My name is Massimo Nalin, I was born 1967 and I live and work in South Tyrol.
Since my adolescence I'm dedicated to painting and art.
Very early I started to experiment with different and unusual artistic materials. In Italy, France and Germany I learned the craft of the stucco plasterer as well as the art of restoring antique stucco ornaments and I worked with plaster and marble.
On my journeys as an artist I experienced some very difficult moments. So, one day I decided to bring my feelings and emotions from the inside to the outside – and I started to paint.
The result of this 'search of my own self' were pictures with strong glowing shades of colours showing my innermost self like a mirror of my soul. I paint my emotions and come to terms with my deepest feelings through my art. My way of painting is a way of healing and it is my medicine.
When I started to paint the pictures were an explosion of colours but then one day I heard a very strong call: On my empty canvas appeared a 'being' without a face but with big wings, powerful but with the lightness of a feather that evoked very strong feelings within me.
From that magic moment onward I painted hundreds of 'angel' pictures embedded in all different shades of colours. When I have a white canvas in front of me I stand there with an empty mind and my painting hand becomes the instrument of my feelings and creates those beautiful angel pictures.
I was very surprised about the many positive reactions on my first exhibition with my angel pictures. To this moment I didn't call myself an artist but with time and with people's encouraging reactions and stories I gained selfconfidence and the knowledge that my pictures have a special energy and aura.
My pictures don't bear titles. Everything I feel I express in the paintings. Everyone looking at the pictures is invited to use their own imagination...
'What is Art?'
'Art is the ability to create emotions.'
On demand I also draw portraits using a client's photo which always makes it a very personal painting. Every human being is unique and therefore every painting is unique as well.
I'm conscious of every person on earth having a gift and it is a wonderful adventure to experience this talent. I'm grateful for my gift and I enjoy to sharing it with my fellow human beings.
