Biography

For over ten years, Iworked as a commercial photographer for magazines, mostly on marketing projects. During this time I gained a lot of experience, but most of my time was spent taking beautiful pictures. I eventually arrived at a point where I was no longer interested in the beauty of a picture but of what the picture was trying to say. I felt photography could only really be valid if it actually had something to say about the world. This is why I have a high regard for those works of mine that aren’t just aesthetically pleasing, but that strive to show what is important in the world. I now only take photos if I have something to say. I am passionate about the rights of minorities and try and make a case for equal rights. I also try and address questions relating to where we have come from and where we are heading. My goal is to do this without pathos so the message is clearer and more accessible.
