Biography
I am a second year contemporary art and design student who idealises the crude, the rude and the grotesque. My first interest for these themes developed when I completed my Foundation diploma in art and design at Writtle school of design. Gradating with a distinction, I was accepted into the degree course at writtle and I’m in the process of expanding and developing my ideas and techniques used for this theme. My choice of medium is a hybrid between performance, photography and illustration, overall creating something rather strange and dark. The used of muted colours or the human form is a technique I use to convey these dark emotions. Getting personally involved in a topic is something that I regularly do, making the art more closer to home and further away from an assignment. I intend to make the audience think when they see my work, shocking them and making them hairs on the back of the neck stand up with the grotesque nature of the work, or making them question and spend time with the piece figuring out the story.
