Biography
Lydia Goldblatt trained at the London College of Communications, receiving a Masters Degree in Photography with Distinction in 2006. She lives and works in London. Her work has been exhibited and published internationally, with group and solo shows in the UK, USA, France, Germany, the Czech Republic, Greece, China, Japan and Malaysia.
Her series, Still Here, was the subject of a solo exhibition at the Felix Nussbaum Museum in Germany in 2013, and was recently published as an artist monograph by fine art publishers Hatje Cantz. In 2014, it was shown as a solo exhibition with Rick Wester Fine Art, New York. Other recent exhibitions include Galerie Huit during the Rencontres d’Arles International Photography Festival, the GoEun Museum of Photography, South Korea, the Tokyo International Photography Festival, the Belfast Photography Festival, the Daylight Photography Awards, USA and Prix de la Photographie, Paris.
Her work is regularly published in the UK and international press (Guardian Weekend, Telegraph, Stella and Sunday Times Magazines, New Statesman, New Yorker, De Zeit, Wallpaper*, amongst others).
In 2010 she was nominated for the Sovereign European Art Prize, and in 2011 was awarded the Fundacion Botin Residency Award with Paul Graham. In 2013 she was the recipient of the Magenta Flash Forward Award. She was awarded the 2014 Grand Prix at the Tokyo International Photography Festival Competition.
