Biography
Contemporary artist duo, based in Ghent (BE).
Visual artists, performers, videographers and data mixers.
For us, making art is constantly searching new and engaging ways to communicate (through our work) with the world and the different (kind of) people that inhabit it. That is why we have adopted different media to create things. The creation process is aligned with the final presentation of the artwork; we are in a constant search for new strategies to put the artwork out there. We like to act as a Trojan Horse, embracing familiar forms but changing the content. We often use recognizable concepts from everyday life / ‚steal’ from commercial corporate identities. Isolating them as an artwork, changing / reshaping / rebuilding them, adding extra information. Later, once the artwork is finished, we present it in an unfamiliar habitat, generating new ways of understanding. As R&F R&F, we try to build a layered universe, stuffed with ‚tongue-in-cheek’ jokes, intertextual links and associations. Every new artwork adds something to our universe.
