Layers are a central element in Margit T. Schranner’s work with the image of the human figure often used as a key motif. By sealing off the images within layer upon layer of wax they lose their specificity and become anonymous, even generalized. Thus they could perhaps represent general aspects of our human existence. Layers and overlayering could be said to relate to the complexity of human life.

Margit T. Schranner’s work is represented in public and private german and international collections such as Staatsgalerie Stuttgart, Villa Merkel Esslingen, Stadt Ostfildern.
