Biography

Emmanuel Nim was born in Polomolok near General Santos City in South Cotabato on June 2, 1981. He developed an interest in art and a taste for figures and landscapes at a young age. He lives in General Trias, Cavite, Philippines. Emmanuel works either in his studio at home or does on-the-spot paintings in a nearby area.

After graduating from high school, he worked in advertising and in smaller galleries in South Philippines before moving to Manila. Inspired by the works of the old masters like Juan Luna, Amorsolo, Caravaggio, Velasquez and Constable, he started his career in Ermita as a so called Mabini artist at Ruffee Gallery. With Mabini as his training ground, he later relocated to Cavite to work as a full-time visual artist and to further develop his own identity and style.

Emmanuel Nim was one of the seven selected artists who painted the Philippine Air Force Mural Painting that has now permanently displayed at the PAF Museum in Pasay City.
Emmanuel Nim is one of those self-taught and non-studied artists from Mabini, steadily gaining recognition in the art scene in the Philippines.
