Biography
Stefania Raimondi (1969) is born in Naples where she lives and works.
Her artistic experience starts at the Arts High School where she graduates in 1986.
She then embarked on a long period of studies: anatomy, painting and drawing techniques, the latter of which was to become her primary means of artistic expression.
At the same time she attends the Archictecture faculty at the University “Federico II” in Naples, where she graduates in 1997.
From 1995 to 1997 she attends the “Course of Nude Techniques” and the “Line-engraving Course” at the Arts Academy of Naples.
Subsequent to an initial phase of drawing human shapes in line with the academic principles, she starts a new period, further developing her sketching techniques and the analysis of relationships between the various parts of the human body.
The hands were soon to become the central point of her research, the most significant element and synthesis of her artistic expression.
Her most significant project so far, called “1999-1799”, follows the historic events of the Neapolitan Republic in 1799.
The project resulted in a personal exhibition in Naples at the Italian Institute for Philosophical Studies and at the Royal Palace, supported by the Cultural and Architectural State office of Naples.
