Biography

Morena Petrillo, in 2005 takes the bodhisattva ordination with the "Myoko" name at the Zen monastery Fudenji by Reverend Fausto Taiten Guareschi. Its proximity to Zen, to the reading of the sacred texts of Buddhism and the practice of Qi Gong, led Myoko to refine his style of drawing and see / experience the "things" of life in a different way. In 2011 he participated in the Venice Biennale Puglia section with an altarpiece by 6 erotic drawings (charcoal on paper) that the public had already got to know in a personal exhibition held in February 2009 at the Artsenal Gallery Florence and curated by Alessandro Pitre. His artistic career is a long and continuous research on the subject of eroticism and its possible interpretations in the light of Zen philosophy; it is the desire to blend sensuality with spirituality, poetry and physicality. In 2012 she puts aside what was the technique with which he made his debut (charcoal on paper) experiencing the colors and new materials to tell the love-sex-carnality-illusion.
