The Twenty-fourth edition of London’s Parallax ‘Art’ Fair opens Kensington Town Hall on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th February. With an average of 280-330 exhibitors and over 7000 products, representing over 40 countries, it has been dubbed Europe’s largest indoor artist consumer fair. Over 40,000 art and design enthusiasts enjoyed the fairs last year and took advantage of the free entrance. Large numbers are expected again for this popular visual extravaganza. As well as fine art, visitors can also browse exquisite pieces of jewellery design, textiles, furniture, ceramics, photography, and household goods and applied arts all at wholesale price. There is no extra commission on top of prices and no VAT on some UK-EU makers too. All the exhibitors are creative entrepreneurs (independent artists and makers), so buying directly from them supports the arts and crafts industries. Prices range from £20 up to £15,000, so there is a price for everyone. Free fast-entry tickets can be downloaded from the website for either opening day. “We recently introduced a panel sharing option,” said David Guthrie, one of the fair organisers, “which now means we have the lowest exhibition fees of any UK fair. It benefits visitors because exhibitors do not have to cover high exhibition costs. Prices stay low and we have seen collectors save hundreds, even thousands, of pounds. It is one of the reasons why we have become so popular with Londoners.” Restaurant facilities at the fair are provided by De Ritz in the Cadogan Suite with Jazz Lane and other local classical and World music bands, playing daily throughout the event
