PICTURES and ANTIQUES at "In Stitches", 2 Rawstorn Road, Colchester, CO3 3JE
Artist Jane Ostler and Antiques Specialist Janet Harris announce a collaboration. Hanging amongst the curious and the good are pictures offering diversion in these times of austerity. Watercolours, prints and drawings join the elegant and ambitious selection of antiques at this small but unique establishment. Upon first impression Jane was struck with the intriguing objects in Janet's shop "In Stitches" and asked if she might show her pictures there. "I had been looking for a perfect space to show my work for ages and then I just came across this beautiful shop full of a diverse set of random but well loved domestic objects, and felt that my pictures might sit happily alongside them". Old Oxo tins, metal signs, kitchen moulds, ginger jars, antique wood furniture and hand knitted jumpers are among the many items on sale here, all lovingly chosen by Janet Harris.
From the beginning of November 2010 to the end of February 2011 Jane will have a presence at
“In Stitches”, with a changing display of art works amongst the antiques.
