Berlin, urban industrial area: a factory she changes clothes to become lively and creative. The Malzfabrik is a functional example of restoration of an ancient monument. The redevelopment of the factory, as well as the surrounding area, has tried to preserve, protect, enhance and restore the area following a philosophy of sustainability.
The project focuses the interest of research and selection of contemporary art emerging from the different and multifaceted forms of expression, represented in a variety of genres without restrictions: from painting to sculpture, from photography to the projections that are found within a truly particular . The plant for the production of malt has become a vibrant creative island in an industrial city that stimulates the "unconventional thinking."
A space for new ideas, immersed in a place where the brick buildings radiate from all corners of the alluring charm of the old production areas, to find serenity and food for thought through art. In this space so unconventional that is suited for exhibition of contemporary art, the project aims to bring together the art, as the driving force of emotions and manufacturing space that is still in place in the spirit of the place that still lives among those walls.
The goal is to observe Europe through the eyes of artists who finally can compare and transmit a flow of stimuli in the art, as happens daily and spontaneously in the streets of the German capital, emotions, traditions and experiences in one of the most dynamic cities: Berlin. Europe is millions of different things ... Berlin, which is the heart of Europe, is the backdrop to the whole event, the Malzfabrik is its square.
