The Junkyard Essays is a mixed media project incorporating images and stories from a salvage yard in New Jersey. This project uses snap shot style photography to capture the remains of a car accident. Today's technology enhances and alters our lives rapidly. By returning to the simplicity of a shared story perhaps we can retain some of the ethics instilled in us prior to instant messaging. I have chosen the junkyard as my place to connect and collect imagery and tales. Each essay has an accompanying license plate number which directly relates to a vehicle and a story. The men working in the yard shared stories with me. I elaborated upon their stories to create these essays. A car comes in, a story comes out.
