Grand exhibition of contemporary European art. To commemorate the European capital of culture,
the curatorial team of this year's festival has chosen artists from 26 European countries and invited
them to Ptuj. The diverse exhibition ranges from painting, photography, and video to spatial
installations and events such as live media sets and performances. The exhibition was prepared in
collaboration with prominent European public and private institutions, and it presents a rich
selection of artworks by over forty important European artists: from the great Slovakian artist Ilona
Nemeth to the great Polish video artist Lech Majewski, from renowned Estonian Tonis Saadoja to
younger, but equally important artists, such as Marco Bernardi from Italy, Kinki Texas from Germany,
and Jose Molina from Spain. The presentation of Europe will be rounded off with evening
performances (Paolo Angelosanto, The Area of Bustle, Elena Mazzi …) and lectures and workshops by
European artists and curators.
