Biography
Kim Mobey is a fine artist based in Cape Town. She is well known for her powerful images, especially in portraiture and figures as well as her exceptional technical skill. While exploring myriad subjects and styles in her artistic career, her focus always comes back to the human experience and a desire to connect intimately with the viewer.
Currently her work is held in private collections in the USA (New York, Los Angeles, Miami, San Francisco) as well as in Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Ireland, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Turkey, Spain, Italy, Australia, South Africa and other countries around the world.
Current and past works have been exhibited and sold through Gail Dorje’s Cape Gallery, Spier’s The Association for Visual Arts, Reva Cohen’s prestigious Atlantic Gallery and Trent Read’s Knysna Fine Art Gallery among others.
While curating and participating in several successful group exhibitions she has also taught art privately for 10 years. With generous sponsorship from Sanlam Private Investments she held her most recent solo exhibition in November 2011.
