Biography

A taxonomy of repurposed cultural artifacts, my work functions as hand crafted effigies, resurrecting the forgotten and overlooked, while reflecting on the minutia dividing the mundane and the sublime. As I sort and filter through the relics of our insatiable visual culture, in vernacular photography and thrift store novelties, I am inspired by allegorical painting and 19th century cinematic antecedents including the stereoscope and animation toys. As a counterpart to our virtual present and increasingly mediated reality, my work reconciles competing longings through new and timeworn technologies.
