Biography
My beliefs are the central governing forces in my creative process. Believing that art's primary function is for contemplation, I strive to stress content and substance. I treat my viewers as intellectual people who think as they experience and digest art.
Using sculpture, installation and video as my primary media, I am interested in how these forms can assume a transcultural, commanding space as it titillates the viewer's senses of seeing, touching, hearing, and perhaps even of tasting and smelling--challenging perspectives and our modes of experiencing things. It also intrigues me how subcultural themes such as bondage and discipline, dominance and submission, and sadomasochism (erotic or otherwise) can serve as potent devices in art.
I want to brave any set boundaries and see how far really art can elevate our cultural taste and advance the state of humanity. It is in this context that I feel as an artist I am commune with the world.
