Profile of Laura Fanti (1974)

Laura Fanti is Critic and Art historian.
Since 2008 she has been collaborating with Art Department of the University of Rome La Sapienza.
She graduated in European countries’ comparative Art history at the University of Rome La Sapienza and got a postgraduate diploma in Contemporary Art history at the University of Florence.
In the last ten years she has been working both in the fields of training and archival science and of critics and curatorship, cooperating with public and private institutions, among which Galleria Nazionale d’arte moderna in Rome, Zètema and Alessandra Bonomo Gallery in Rome. She deals with talent scouting, promoting the work of young artists and writing essays and interviews also on the occasion of exhibitions.
She writes regularly for the magazines Espoarte and Juliet, she is editor of Histara-les comptes rendus (the magazine of Sorbonne University), and occasionally collaborates with other specialized headings (Nuova Museologia, Kritika, Ottocento).
Her interests range between nineteenth century and contemporary Art and also comprehend Museology, Philosophy, photography and the accessibility of the cultural heritage to people with disabilities, for which she is often called as trainer or speaker in conferences.
Her field of artistic research particularly includes Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, Symbolism, history of colours, art photography, all forms of sculpture, from the most minimal to the most global, where art, environment, politics and search for a new ecology entwine.
She is working on a book of a symbolist artist, at the translation of a literary work by Félix Vallotton, at exhibitions in private galleries and at environmental art projects.

She is Associated Member of the Global Board of Contemporary Art.
