Biography

Lisa Gwen holds a first degree in History of Art and a Masters in Cultural Heritage Management. She has been studying art in its many forms and colours for 13 years. During this time, she developed a penchant for writing which gradually evolved into her full-time job at The Times of Malta, where she has been working for over three years specialising in feature and critical writing specifically related to visual arts and contemporary culture. She is also the editor of the Archetype Paper and joint curator of art and design online magazine Velcro.
When she is not tap-tapping away or trying to meet deadlines, she works as a freelance curator, intent on promoting and disseminating the visual arts.
She has been directly involved in the organisation of large-scale events, such as the visual arts programme of the Malta Arts Festival (2010), the Valletta Photography Festival (2011) and Malta Design Week (2011).
