Biography
For the past decade Lola Ramona has exhibited in solo and group shows in New York, Atlanta, and Los Angeles, and in Japan and London. She has traveled extensively- born on a naval base in California, she has subsequently lived in Japan, the Philippines, Taiwan, Hawaii, Texas, Georgia, Boston, and New York. She is an MFA graduate from the School of Visual Arts in New York, and she has recently moved again to Los Angeles from Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
She specializes in intimate, life-sized, and startlingly realistic drawings often concerning surreal subjects. Lola has been interpreting portraits as animals or animal/human hybrids for many years. The portraits are stark and vulnerable, revealing very human revelations through the eyes of animals.
