Biography

My work arises from the Kongo culture, I use a traditional concept, that of Nganga. The works of Nganga are spread in the world under the naming of statuettes with nails.
Nganga is not only manufacturers of statuettes with nails. They are spirituals, performers, fitters, musicians... They have a polymorphic general-purpose practice.
Being borned and named Nganga, I was raised in this environment before crossing these possibilities in the experiences of the other worlds.
I got back my appointment of Nganga which is also my signature to make it my artistic approach.
I investigate this concept which invites the artist to be general-purpose, implying an Interbreeding of the cultures, a Hybridization of techniques, materials, disciplines and a Syncretism in the spirituality. A movement which does not homogenize but multiplies the peculiarities as can explain Edouard Glissant.
It is a ground of meeting where resounds the World. I’m doing the cultures sing, vibrate the spiritualities and meet the people. I’m doing performance, video, music... I’m expressing myself in several artistic disciplines that brings me to identify this work as some Art Total. The totality is only a quotation of Nganga of the tradition Kongo with their works, but also big western artists such as: Pablo Picasso, Rauschenberg, Salvador Dali, Beuys, Allan Kapprow, Lamonte Young, John Cage, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Nam June Paik, Jean Michel Basquiat and so many others. My work is a temporal journey making alloy of forms and expressions of the past to contemporaneousness.
I question the historic, contemporary realities and imagine the future by inspiring me of all the cultures of the world, all the events in the world. I go to meet worlds, cultures and I make them meet themselves and have a dialogue to take out a singular and plural language of it, a unique and multiple identity which represents in her the variety of the World.
