The glorious cow
The Cow is a sacred and honored animal to many cultures and tribes. Hindus once considered the Cow their most sacred animal in their custody and the killing of them was prohibited by law. The Irish also venerated Cows and they were considered to have large monetary value, therefore, they were guarded and protected accordingly. The ancient Egyptians considered the Cow an honored animal and to them she represented fertility and love. Several legends depict the Cow’s curdled milk as the creator of the planet earth. They are the givers of nutrition. They represent ultimate sacrifice and the female nurturing element. Cows are very intelligent and gentle animals seeing all with their wide watchful eyes. They possess lunar magic and many lunar goddesses wear the horns of the cow upon their heads.
