PUBLIC SECRET

my video "PUBLIC SECRET" is part of a comprehensive project, titled with: "PATTERNS OF DISORDER".

this project is to be understood as an integrative form of coming to terms with a topic which concerns society to a rapidly increasing extent, namely the so-called
d i s o r d e r s, especially eating disorders which are so conveniently covered up by the blanket of daily life.
on the surface these disorders are ascribed to the individual only and are considered taboo.

in this project the patterns that lie behind these disorders become visible and tangible. these patterns are more closely related to every person´s life than one tends to think and can be reduced to the following dimensions:
closeness - distance
aggression - selfdestruction - love
everyday life - retreat
public space and privacy
past - presence - future
individual and society

these dimensions and their close interconnection with each one of us are to be discovered by the viewer at different levels of perception and they are never didactic and it is to be seen as integrative in the sense that many highly personal statements are presented together with statements applicable to each one of us - to a frightening degree.
