Words depend on other words to create meaning, by referring to what it is not. In the same way, the concept of man is mainly built on the idea that we are not animals, and see Nature as something separate from ourselves, humans. My work explores the struggle to find oneness with the Other and the environment. Repetition in the mark making forces me to slow down to an almost meditative state. This allows for a reconnection with my inner-self and thus the world around. Life is a series of connections.
