'You are Welcome'

Floor installation responding to the Venice Site; a 'reliquary, a fallen angel/bird/saint covered in white simulated 'feathers' (protective latex gloves evoking profilactics,life-and-death,protection and separation) inside a grey metal suitcase,commonly found in West Africa.From inside the suitcase, the sound of the Atlantic ocean in an acoustic environment created in 2006 by the old slave forts in Ghana. The work connects this shoreline with Africa,from where recent boats have set sail, with 'illegal immigrants' searching for a new life: instead, their bodies are now buried deep at sea.
