In these photographs the documentary nature of the image has been stripped away to reveal a potential interior, therefore whittling away the identity through a physical assault on the transparency. The poses are reminiscent of mugshots and also of paintings, two forms of portraiture that are typically made for posterity. However, exact personage is disposable in these photographs, so what is left for posterity is better suited to oblivion.
