from archetype to alchemy_the bird and leaves

The artworks in this series forms part of my MA exhibition, a collection of handmade sculptures tracing the instance of the archetype in the human collective memory. The bird was found dead in the corner of my space, i made a muslin and clay 'eye' to help it to see and a shroud for it to rest. The leaves catalogue all the leaf forms in nature. They are made of clay and covered in wax and turmeric.
