retrieved_family III_the gathering

This project is part of an ongoing series I have been involved with for many years. The concept of the lost and forgotten image, buried under life pressing ever forward. Here it is retrieved and recycled. Lost and found. Images of places visited, paths walked, snapshots of moments long forgotten are brought out of dusty drawers.

These are my aunts with my Uncle Chris, now lost to us, clowning around. I have my own first memories of this gathering. We all have family photographs we stare at, hoping a magic spell will reveal some truth about the past.
