Synopsis: A static camera films a square of artificial grass at night, an electric torch and... a languid body.
Between pause and movement, nonchalance and tension, this body is simultaneously a woman, an insect, a fish, or a just someone asleep in his or her private reserve.

In a slightly surrealist manner, the idea is to conjugate the immobility of the camera with changes of direction of the body. And thereby to create a visual intrigue, made up of the gestual quality of the dancer, the way in which she brings about changes to what the stationary camera shoots, in order to make the image move, and the effects of editing, whether discreet or evident.
The dancer moves between the four angles of the mat, reversing the orientation of the lower or upper part of her body in an irregular rythm or time span. The strangeness of the mutation is accentuated by the angle of the shot which emphasises the changes in luminosity brought about by the body movements.
Is the optical effect the result of the body only, or has some editing taken place? Is this a freeze frame or is it a hiatus in real time? Has the film been slowed down or is this inherent in the movement itself?
Dance, here, is neither object nor subjet of the camera but actually melts into the visual medium.
« This project is part of my research dealing with what is fixed and what is mobile, between pause and movement. With a particular leaning towards everything concerned with spatial, acoustic, visual, even vibratory sensation, which is at the heart of my work at present. »
It takes its place within a series of projected short formats (dance in film, on stage or in situ performances) which enable me to engage more directly in interdisciplinary research, on my own or in collaboration with other plastic, video, or acoustic creators. Hence the creation of this new label: Laboratory label.
