"Fourteenth century, Moscow. Two Russian monks, a singer and painter, flee from the Tatars. They end up in various European cities, where they witness the eccentric behavior of people who believe in the end of times . Time and again, they are threatened and they need to run. Eventually they end up in an abbey in Ehinham in Flanders, where they are received. The fathers behave like perverts in a madhouse, the abbot is a mythomaniac surrounded by angels lust, and the only non seeks her own way to her mystical soul. An Inquisitor is summoned to explain miracles. Finally, the Russian monks, again driven by fate, want to escape the madness. The circle will close, but the apocalypse will be very close.
