The namelist of the students who died in the earthquake at Wenchuan (Sichuan, China) on May 12, 2008 has not been proclaimed by the government till now. A Chinese artist named Ai Weiwei initiated a volunteer group to investigate the number and namelist of victim students and teachers in Wenchuan area since the beginning of 2009. Till now part of the namelist was exposed in Ai Weiwei's blog which was soon deleted and shut down by the blog administrator under certain pressure. The names contained in the poster come from Ai Weiwei's blog under his will to spread them to more people. And the namelist is an uncompleted one which includes nearly 4,000 names of the students who died or missed on this major disaster. The names in red indicate the geographic locations of cities and towns in Sichuan province destroyed in the earthquake.
