Into the cocoon
Into The cocoon
The painting is about the need to go inside in a controlled, well-known and arranged place, when human being visits new and unknown places. It is based on an experience in a hut in the jungle in India, by a Northern person. Myself.
The different kind of fabrics creates an intimate, sheltering and feminine atmosphere that gives a distance to the outside.
This place is a transition between nature and human, a hide from threatening, uncontrolled factors in nature. That reminds of our own inner uncontrolled sides. But the shell is more an illusion than a reality, as the achieved barrier is so thin and vulnerable, and the cracks, here and there, allows the nature to crawl in. The joy and the fear are both present and fight of the attention.
