With a Grain of Sand

Thirteen grains of sand collected from Coogee beach in eastern Australia are displyed. Each grain of sand appears twice. Once as a light microscope image, displaying the true colour of the sand. Once as an electron image, displaying the texture of the sand in more detail. The grains of sand are to scale to the ruler (cm) on the right side of the image.
