Layers

"Layers" is a mixed media painting on board. The theme is identity building in a contemporary world, particularly as a female. What to show, what to hide, and how to do this in an environment both capable of judging harshly and praising wildly.
An important part of the painting are newspaper clippings with topics ranging from positive empowering examples of women, to discussion on the derogatory manner which females are often discussed online.
