Losing Childhood
The city has become the ultimate slum city. Slum dogs can become millionaire only in the movies, but in real world the scenario is totally different. Indeed, they are leading a very miserable life and are suffering from thousands of problems in their everyday life. Apart from this, a huge number of garment factories are rising by centering all these slum dwellers. Most of the garment labors live in those slums, for this reason we can say that slums and garment factories are acutely related to each other. Aloof from all these, there are some govt. quarters allocated for govt. service holders. And other lands are now in developer’s hand. The scenario tells us that whoever have the ability are living in high-rise apartments and the middle class people are still trying to cope up with the landlords. Because of the increasing rate of population people are getting deprived from their five basic needs. Lack of electricity-water supply-gas is making their lives miserable. Many of them are getting bereaved from their basic need called “food”. And this deprivation is pushing a large number of people towards illegal deeds such as bribery, robbery, murder etc.
Though the govt. has started to pay attention on slowing down the growth rate of population and to create working places by decentralizing the opportunities but it is the capital that still attracts the people towards it.
The children in the photos are the common faces with whom I got to interact daily. We are the habitants of same area. They grab my attention gradually. Whenever I passed through I observed them, they always surrounded by the four walls of their houses, balconies, staircases etc.
They certainly do. The time when I was in their age I supposed to be in the field, school playground, parks with my friends to pass out my leisure time by playing various kinds of sports, physical activities. But now days as the grounds are gradually disappearing under high raised buildings these kids are suffocating themselves within their room. Their physical growth in a particular way somewhere has been hampered. They lack the social gatherings in person.
