You could say we judge the entirety of a person’s being from this outer surface, this one image we see of them. It is the cover image that is their skin wrapped around the whole of their body, containing all their personality traits, humor, sadness; their whole essence.
However ‘skin on skin’ seeks to split this idea apart and see this façade for what it really is; something malleable, transformable and completely adaptable, and as supple as manipulating images on a computer screen. Not something you have to feel encased in, as underneath everyone looks the same.
