La Mère et l'Enfant (Mother and Child)

This approach focuses on the emotional and sensual relationship between mother and child, regardless of their nationality, ethnicity or religion... I always photograph the same parts of their bodies : the bust and sometimes barely more. The frames are tight with a blank background, the color is nearly monochrome, the face is absent.It highlights the body on body, this natural and instinctive contact between the two protagonists in these scenes which goes back to the first representations of the mother and child, from icones of classical paintings. It is a reflection of this intimacy that obviously goes back to the dawn of civilisation. In addition to the perception of the body in its intimacy, I am also commited to a questioning of what photography really shows us.
