Nuit Langue

This piece of art has many layers of anecdotical traces and is one of many with those sort of motifs and colours in my works - it originated in drawings and paintings I've made since a few years.
Printed and painted on silk, the aim was to make it a sort of a sweet and soft painting, mixing thickness and a weird feeling of colours. What we see, is it a pillow ? a sculpture or a painting ? an architecture model ?
The dimension are smaller than a bed or a body, and it is just not functional, just to put on the floor and to look at, autonomous.
The piece is about that simple perception of softness, the contrast between the black and white checkerwork and the softer hand-made pastel part.
It can be recto or verso, it can be handle in hand - or just laying on the floor of the exhibition space.
