Black Mud Lotus Flower
All those lotus-flower-like references – the divine, the sublime – that earlier lived only in the realms of religion and art, are now common vocabulary in market, in advertising products or seducing consumers. Not only concepts, but also values are redefined under marketized logic. As westerners, everybody of us is part of this consumer and producer game, but many feel like vomiting from overindulgence, and many are excluded.
Lotus flower needs to have its roots in mud. But it is unknown untill now, if the western mud and religious belief in economic growth is too thick and black for any civilisation and wisdom to survive.
