Old face

Work inspired from a photograph, developed in oil painting. I loved the face and hand well marked by time. Many wrinkles of expression, but at the same time, a joy that presents itself hidden and revealed. Hidden by the expression contained in the gesture of the hand over her mouth, though revealed by the marks of expression and the look. The image passes an idea of ​​simple, hardworking person and at the same time, a huge spontaneity of life, captured at that moment.
I tried to give a reading of what I imagined to make the painting vibrant, using a color palette to bring about a dynamic of the painting. There is a moment of reflection and contemplation in painting. When we stop in front of her, something visceral appears ... a certain complicity with the personage painted. I believe it is a mixture of reverence and complicity. There is also a marriage between colors that causes a desire to be observing and seeking points of perception of the process.
I often paint fast, but in this case, I stayed for three months devoting all attention to the work.
