Beso Uznadze’s photography explores subjectivity at close: here the camera objective focuses at the most hidden details, both physically or psychologically, as if trying to reveal the personality behind their tired wrinkles or other. Close ups of hidden body parts, sexual determinates or other resembles a psychological drama kind of imagery. Portraying female personas in their domestic environment, Uznadze emphasizes some details from the interior furniture and thus reveals the symbolism of these as well as their practical role among the lives of the depicted. It is hard to define his photography from painting, or textile, as for Beso’s rich color schema and the technique of layering the image, reminds us of such traditional imagery.
