ephemeral nature
I used a strainer, a rubber ball, dustsheets and thin edible films as materials. There is water on top of this piece, and it gradually leaks and ruins the thin edible films. This sculpture is inspired by jellyfish because it is ephemeral and romantic sea animal. In fact, it does’ t have function to think, and jellyfish’ s body melts in ocean after it died. I acknowledge that idea of permanent becomes a drag in order to represent ephemerality. Therefore, I attempted to create temporary piece by using material that disappears throughout the time.
