Achird, 19 Light years

Achird, 19 Light years

Fotografia Analogica, Minimal, Idee, Analogica, 29.7x21x2.5cm
'Achird, 19 Light Years' is a 19 year old 35mm negative that has been used to photograph the star known as Achird that is 19 light years from Earth, or over 100 trillion miles. This means that the negative has been exposed to light that is as old as itself, and the negative has had physical contact with this light and therefore the star itself. This piece looks at the colossal journey the light has undertaken and re contextualizes it by introducing it to an object that has had a journey of its own in equal length of time. Very minimal and delicate in appearance, this work is designed to create a sense of wonder that such a small pinprick on a negative could represent something so far away.
