Four female performers abolish the strict limits of the canvas, methodically colouring a glass pane with the deep rouge imprints from their lipstick. Mimicking the confrontational nature of modern advertising, the work targets the unwitting - the person walking their dog, who is going to work, who is returning home from last nights party, each is transformed into a viewer.

One kiss, a second kiss, an other, the sustained act parallels a painting in progress. Playing with the intimacy that adverts try to establish with their audience - the work uses the act of a kiss to a very different effect. Women's bodies displayed in a window immediately brings thoughts of objectification, forcing each viewer to reflect on their own voyueristic tendencies. However, with each kiss the performers agency is emphasised. The stain of the lipstick slowly building a border that hides their bodies from view.

As each kiss coalesces into an impenetrable mass - the individual marks lose their importance, the transparent becomes opaque and the venerability of the sensual becomes brutal, chaotic and violent.
