What inspires me is to see the beauty of decay in old flaky walls or wrinkled skin. Each painting is the result of a slow “self-challenging” process to what is essential. Lines are drawn trough repetition, scratched deep into the layered matter and create nuances in the structure and division. In the dynamics of a never ending process of demolition and construction, lived paint skins are created. They are masks, identities with their own namen and a lived life, with holes en scratches and a multi-layered structure.
In my latest works, the canvas detached from his frame, create a sense of freedom and individuality.
My work can be seen as a painting and as a sculpture and with its own name, object becomes subject.
