what's in a title... well i have always thought that titles have never been important other that reference, but then why waste a good opportunity.. titles appear as ways of letting the viewer remember the work and the better the title the more inspired the viewer will hopefully be...

Neale, I agree with your thoughts on titles. I once had a juried exhibition experience where I found out my work was almost cut because everything was at first being view without titles. Once the titles were brought into the process, my piece was understood and won best in show. This was learned from a lecture the jurist gave at the opening and awards ceremony. Since then I have focused on relating the visual to the poetic.
