Leda and the Swan

Leda and the Swan

Pittura, Sacro / Mitologico, Acrilico, 160x145cm
It was an epoch in which men and gods lived together in a perfect harmony.Women didn’t exist. Prometeus stole the fire to immortal gods to give it to mankind but gods, angry, separated from the mortal line and moved to the bright sky.Gods decided to punish further mankind and created Pandora the first woman.Pandora was afflicted by an insatiable hunger that is why men were compelled to work hard to satisfy her continual needs.Gods saw Pandora’s daughters and thought they were really beautiful.Goddes too are beautiful but, maybe, women have something that goddess do not posses: it is weakness, the frailty of beauty, women are not immortal and it is necessary to capture the unique moment in which they are at the top of their beauty. Leda and the Swan captures the unique moment in which the deity with his metamorphic skill seizes her fragile prey. These unions will give birth to noble and sublime lines, heroes, kings, femmes fatales, myths born of myth in a mad and fascinated proliferation, still able to talk to us, to move us. Zeus sights Leda in Erota river and fallen in love, transforms himself in a swan and possesses her.

Mi ricorda il fumetto d'autore, in particolare "Campofame" di Pazienza..
