Leafy Sea Dragon

This sculpture is part of the Goblin series of kinetic mobile sculptures created with broken and cut peices of glass, made to mimic animals seen in the air, water, and natural world. Because of the abstractions of the materials they take on a fantasy/spiritual personification that call to us as our own personal animal guides and guardians. The Leafy Sea Dragon was created with the very specific animal found in the tropical oceans. It represents the male of the species who in the natural world protects the newly fertilized eggs on its belly untill they hatch.
