Biography
Oscar Roldán-Alzate earned his bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and his Master of Political Science at the University of Antioquia. Since 2002, he began to develop his research in the cultural and curatorial fields; between 2008 and 2014 he worked as chief curator at the Museum of Modern Art of Medellin. In 2010 he founded the ALBO Program, a cultural platform that promotes site-specific projects developed by young Colombian artists at the gallery Casa de la Música in Medellin. In 2013 was one of five curators of 43SNA-Saber Desconocer, held in Medellin. He currently heads the Cultural Outreach Department of the University of Antioquia and serves as advisor to different cultural and educational institutions in Colombia and Latin America including the CNMH, Museo La Tertulia, CIFO, MISOL Foundation, and abstractioninaction, among others. He has written artistic and cultural criticism for different media including ArtNexus and Arcadia.
